Music (for a film). Brett's song, I Can't Complain (.m4a/3.99 MB), is about to throw up all over Ponderous Productions' new movie, Tag. You can't complain about that, can you? You've got to love it when people put your songs in things. Movies, hot dog buns, paper bags, their mouths—anything. Brett, just last night, I put one of your songs in one of my wife's shoes. She went to put her shoe on, this morning, and was like, "Hey! One of Brett Staggs' songs is in here! I could have really hurt my toe on that, you moron!"

And I was all like, "Turn the stereo up, already!"

What?

Anyway, look for Tag to be released in and around Austin this July. Watch it. Love it.

So, this is brettstaggs.com. This is going to be a great site. I can feel it, already.

So—what's the deal? This is the deal: Brett Staggs exemplifies honest, emotional and anthemic songwriting; mixing sounds similar to Damien Rice and John Mayer, Brett prefers the simple approach to the music—coupled with a serious approach to the melody and lyrics. Brett’s songs are perfect for television and film placement as well as for exciting and intimate live shows. The majority of his songs deal with travel, redemption and love.

Opening for The Damnwells, Lovedrug, The Push Stars, Paul Thorn and Eric James, Brett has finally recorded a rough demo to please popular demand. It's the 4-song Brett Staggs sampler. Produced, not long ago, in Pittsburgh, with Doug Kochmanski and Eric James. Now, starting out in Austin—this year's SXSW Festival isn't a bad place to start—with an album’s worth of music in his back pocket, watch for an official release from Brett Staggs, soon.

And watch for frequent updates here at the brand-spanking-new brettstaggs.com.
